Search Your Tabs, Bookmarks, and History In Google Chrome Browser Address Bar And Mozilla Firefox Browser Address Bar
You can find specific tabs, bookmarks, and history using the browser address bar.
Google Chrome
- Starting type with @tabs, press space bar and then typing the title to see matching the tab.
- Starting type with @bookmarks, press space bar and then typing the bookmark title to looking for bookmark among all of your folders of bookmarks, right from the address bar.
- Starting type with @history. press space bar and then typing the history title to looking for history through all of your browsing history, right from the address bar.
- Starting type with ?, press space bar and the typing the keyword to search the website.
Mozilla Firefox
- Type a % before your search term to filter the results to only open tabs.
- Type a ^ to show only matches in your browsing history.
- Type a * to show only matches in your bookmarks.
- Type a + to show only matches in bookmarks you've tagged.
- Type a # to show only matches where every search term is part of the title or part of a tag.
- Type a $ to show only matches where every search term is part of the web address (URL). The text “https://” or “http://” in the URL is ignored, but not “file:///”.
- Add ? to show only search suggestions to search the website.
